Treatment Questions

Recommended Posts

I binged LSD towards end of last year with fortnightly trips, but tried microdosing it pretty recklessly too. Didn’t have any HPPD then but then consumed MDMA on NYE mixed with alcohol and within the next few days I developed this disorder. I’ve been obsessed with finding possible treatment ever since as I couldn’t imagine having this for the rest of my life.

I have so far seen reports of people “curing” their HPPD from shrooms, changa, using the mms method (the chlorine dioxide post) and have seen multiple reports saying prescription drugs had cured it: Keppra and Lamotrigine.

Before I go to my doctor I was wanting to try other methods that people have suggested. I’m interested in the mushrooms or changa as I have seen they are unlikely to worsen the effects since I either got this from LSD or MDMA, plus I have heard and read theories that Psilocybin could possibility help with repairing the neurons.

I’m wondering if you all think this is a stupid idea risking it getting worse vs possibly curing/minimising the disorder..?

I did mushrooms after developing hppd, my visual symptoms became three dimensional for several months after.

0/10 would not recommend.

EDIT: by three dimensional, I mean I'd look at cracks in a sidewalk or cement patterns and what not and they would have 'depth' to them that was not previously there before my mushroom trip. Fighting fire with fire will only result in a bigger fire. This should be common sense.

Stop using any drugs whatsoever and eat healthy, live healthy, and ignore the fact that it's there. Perhaps in 6 months to a year if the symptoms are still very prevalent you can try the keppra or lamotrigine method, but it's certainly not guaranteed.

If you need some immediate and temporary relief for the moment, a benzodiazepine can help. But definitely not something you want to use on a daily basis as it'll likely make the problem worse.
