Hello all im not quite sure if this is the place for me ive seen many doctors and lost alot of friends due to whatever is wrong.... It started in march of 2010 i was sitting watching tv when i was hit with a feeling of loss or missing and blacked out vision like a black hole hit me i first assumed it was an anxiety attack but when my vision didnt return to normal and i developed tinnitus i was scared thinking that it would all be okay in the morning but when i awoke it wasnt..... now ive been living like this for over a year floaters on my right eye constantly when im outside, "wiggiling" words when i read, size distortion, constant feeling of something missing, innability to look at someone when speaking to them due to the almost indescribable perception issues,I dont know if what is wrong with me applies here, unfornatly no doctor has been able to find anything wrong. my family think im making it up and im just scared to say the least.... What can i do

Can only sympathize, you description is EXACTLY how mine was. From the onset to your thoughts about it going away the day after etc.

Just now there are treatments. I am not in a position to tell you what to do but there are meds that could help. There are users who knows this better hen i.

Have you ever used hallucinagens? Ever? There can be a considerable latency between ingestion and symptoms of HPPD. If you haven't ever done them, it isnt hppd but it seems to have the same symptoms, do you suffer from migranes, there is something called persistant migrane aura that carries the same symptoms without the drug use, the void you are experiencing is depersonlization disorder, a disorder people with our kinds of problems frequently experience.

For me words would bounce, hell my whole world would bounce, and I feel super detacted from everything around me, almost as though I am not really there.

Yes ive used acid twice and i now regret it terribly..... Ive read there are medications that can help but what is there other than benzodiazepenes, id like to avoid them at all cost since this has progressed i cant seem to bring myself to drink or take anything not even caffeine.....My docter tried putting me on Lithium since that helped my moods when i was younger but it only seemed to aggravate my disassociation and.. now occasionally my brain wont instantly recognize things such as my hand for instance, i know its my hand but my brain sees it as foreign for a second or two which is even more scary than some of the other sttuff..., I dont know what to do to even be formally diagnosed if this is what is really the diagnosis..,, i just dont know

With schizophrenia, people might see things that are not there. But this is the opposite – missing or not understanding things that are there.

When I started seeing in frames, it happened suddenly in about six seconds as if two planes separated apart.. Vision remained sharp and instantaneous, but meaning was continually delayed one minute. This lack of meaning would cause me to walk into objects even though they were clearly visible – just without meaning. Wondered if the left hemisphere wasn’t communicating with the right one.

It really stinks when people think you are making it up.

The movement and wiggling of object is the loss of proper synchronization/coordination of multiple visual processes. It takes time to get used to it. However, it is possible to get well too.

What medications have you taken besides Lithium?

Since you see floaters in one eye, how is your vision when you close an eye?

Ive taken a large amount of different medications for depression and social anxiety when i was younger but since the onset of this only lithium.... with one eye closed my vision is still screwy... having really bad near sightedness doesnt help but... i was wondering are hearing problems associated with this i havnt found anything saying so but i have tinnitus in my left ear and sometimes i cant tell where sounds are coming from and sounds are like surround sound occasionally.... I dont know but the hardest part for me is conquering my thoughts and overwhelming dread

I don't know with lithium but with antipsychotics like Resperidol it will worsen HPPD symptoms to the point where really weird things will happen to your vision. I heard someone who took Resperidol with HPPD whose vision totally flipped, as right was left and left was right, for the entire time he was on it. I don't know if Lithium would do something similar but you should discuss HPPD with your doctor who prescribed your meds. See what he says, give him literature on it, if he does not know about HPPD, ask him if he could look it up, there are resources available to him which would make learning many things about HPPD easy. I hope you feel better.
