Has anyone tripped since?

Recommended Posts

Just out of curiosity I was wondering how many people here have actually tripped since the onset of their hppd...

For some reason I could imagine shrooms being fine as I've never had a negative experience on them, LSD is completely different story however...

Well, my hppd began after some shrooms, so I don't think I'll ever dare taking them again. I had shrooms a couple of times before that and they were all pleasant experiences, but the last time took me to hell. (It probably has a lot to do with my mental state at the time and the environment though.)

I used some MDMA in low doses since I got hppd, the first few times were almost fine, but the last time scared the shit out of me with more vivid visuals than some of my strongest acid trips. It also did make my hppd a bit worse.

Sometimes I do miss tripping a lot, but I'm even scared to smoke pot due to severe panic attacks and such.

Hey,

Listen to these stories but do as i say, not as i do;)

I tripped alot after i got my hppd, and i can tell you everything makes it worse afterwards.

I have used lsd(2x), 2cb, salvia, weed(alot, multiple strong joints a day), xtc, lsa, mdma(pure cristals) and yes, im still walking around strangely enoughXD

Because, and i dont know why, after eveey trip, it only got worse for a week or so, after that, it got back to "light" hppd, the form i could live with.

I must say, during the trip, it releaves your hppd, atleast it did mine. But its not worth the spike in hppd after, trust me, i got lucky mine fixed itself so fast after, so unless you know you bounce back quickly, dont, really.

Hope this settles your and most peoples curiousity, if anyone still decides to trip now, do it in a really safe, wellknown place with someone you love, the closer the better. Because with this set and setting get even more important, i always tripped at home with my girlfriend. But its still better if you dont.

Remember, there is a life in but also after hppd, enough time to discover, as long as you just keep breathing, thats all you got to do, and dont worry:)

I used to trip everyday until I got Keppra. Sober but, yeah still tripping. I will probably always trip drugfree from now on. Levetiracetam takes the edge of it though.

Shapwplay> Tried sinemet? Keppra is great that it inhibits the ion channels and puts the lid on but doesnt taget the serotonin/dopamin dysfunction in HPPD, for some balanced with l-dopa.

For the record, i am no longer sure that i was ready to trip in the beginning, although it enchants me (the idea). MDMA though in the right doses is something that i really would like to try. However i would never risk my brain anymore. Not until there is a certain fix for HPPD and at that time i have probably moved on and will be to old to bother about such things

I asked my neurologist about a COMT-inhibitor and if she could do some tests about it, but she was highly sceptical but agreed to a point where dopamine is important for the vision. I don't have blurry vision though and I don't think that I feel depressed or have number emotions. I know though that I'm a seeker of noradrenaline and dopamine, was never addicted to these drugs but I always loved action and had some other addictions linked to that. So maybe it would be good both psychologically and for my vision. Do you know what exactly sinemet did for you?

Things Keppra helped me with - DP/DR, visual snow, CEV:s, thinking patterns, headaches, brainfog, emotions, 5-10% reduction in visuals (or if I'm getting more used to them). Or I'm recovering and the meds are placebo, but I doubt that as there was a significant change after 1,5-2 months on Keppra. And the spikes in my brain from the sleep-EEG has been normalized.

Keppra improved all my symptoms. Starting with the visual and emotional. Its like the delay disappeared. A good test for this was entering the bathroom switching the light off, instant adjustement. Depth perception almost fully improved from seing everything in 2D

That's great to hear! I maybe didn't make myself clear enough but I was wondering about sinemet and how it did help you. Or did you simply mistype Keppra instead of Sinemet? If so, then I should definately give it a shot as my trails are quite annoying.

Sorry, sinemet helped the delay. Keppra some but most visual snow and some DP/DR, and the racing seizure like mind race

Ive dropped L about six or eight times since onset. Eaten shrooms about four times. Smoked DMT around five times. I smoke weed every day. I was unable to drink for a time, now I drink every day.

I really don't know what to make of my condition. It was at a point, definitely HPPD. However, after about a year and a half it stabilized. It never seemed to get much better or worse. Regardless of my sobriety.

We're all different. I kind of just stopped worrying about. Dealt with the anxiety though meditation and good game trips.

Never felt better, never been happier. It is my belief that there is hope for everyone.

Symptoms that still persist are consistent visual abnormalities, and tinnitus after a loud show.

Wait shadowplay you still trip? How do you plan to recover?

No, I don't trip with drugs. I trip 24/7 without them because of HPPD. That's what I meant. Without Keppra and even with it sometimes I get high spikes. Woke up few weeks ago felt high on acid and had one of the strongest CEV:s I ever experienced. I'm talking DMT like visuals. But I had no substances in my body. I believe so far that HPPD is when you use any hallucinogen drug and for some reason your brain gets stuck and repeat the same signals and distortions in the brain that the drug did to you.

I see. Thanks for clarifying that. May I ask you how you got your hands on Sinemet? Would that be possible without showing the study that Dr. Abraham founded regarding the COMT-inhibitor?

Because you see that to my neurologist I don't have a history of hallucinogenic drugs, because I wanted to go another route for some reasons. However, I wonder if it's possible to try out Sinemet without actually having the diagnose HPPD.

Another thing, Sinemet is what I know taken three times a day, do you have any side-effects if you would skip one day for example or do you feel long term side-effects?

Thanks for your advices.

umm i had a dream that i was on dmt and in my dream i was having closed eyed visuals like light shows lol. pure light, not static. idk if that was in my dream, or if I was "having a spiritual experience" (meditation) and basically tripping. haha. i guess that counts :P

it feels good to be light hearted :D

Even weed can stimulate a flashback, I had one after smoking skunk, nothing happened immediately after, but when I got home the flowers on my wallpaper were within diamonds that were rotating, and the carpet had a lava lamp effect with the highlights. I dunno how much this is relevant to my HPPD, because I never normally "trip" normally, and if I do then it's very mild.
