Mental illness is prominent in my family gene pool. Both my parents and my two siblings have been diagnosed in some way or another. Depression (dysthymia and major), anxiety disorders (panic disorder, GAD, OCD) and substance abuse disorder are diagnosis are shared between us. Unfortunately for me, I was able to add a new diagnosis to the house. I keep in mind that I might be first diagnosed to my knowledge, but misdiagnosis are common. I have no clue how exactly the history of different diagnosis and situations may relate. I can only suspect the hereditary mental risk factors in general may of made me vulnerable/contributed to getting hppd.
