No one can answer those questions.. You might be ok, you might completely ruin your life. It sounds like you got incredibly lucky to come through the other end and have a form of hppd that can be managed. I'd quit while you are ahead. I was in your situation and carried on pushing my luck and got totally fucked over and have had life altering, severe hppd for 24 years now.

You say that quitting drugs would suck.... What sucks FAR more is not being able to have 1 moment of the rest of your life with any kind of peace or true happiness. What sucks is not being able to maintain eye contact with your wife as her face swirls and distorts... Or not being able to chat to your parents without crippling anxiety. Or going to a job interview feeling like you are on acid.

You'll only realise how amazing peaceful sobriety is when it is no long an option.

Totally agree. I'm on a visual snow whatsapp group chat and I wrote something like this. So, few guys told me: "Stop, you just try to order us to being sober and being sober isn't the only way!" I told them, "isn't the only if you want keep yourself regretting all days of have HPPD, isn't the only way if you don't want to see your wife's eyes, or your father's eyes withouth feeling anxiety"

The key is being sober and I'm glad other people is staying sober. So good Jay.

hey @Jagermeister , ¿cuánto tiempo tardaron en desaparecer sus síntomas?

I just see it right now.

It took for me 4 years. The first two years I continued smoking pot, so, HPPD was worse. The third year I stoped weed, but still drunk alcohol, and in the final of the 3 year (31 december), I said good bye to all drugs and started .xanax and dexamethasone. Took around 1 year to feel right now... So clear... So good.

Sorry for the late reply. Hope you're doing good.

What do you mean with "fasting"??? For example, I fast everyday until 15:00 or 3 pm. I don't eat anything at the morning, I only drink 2 glasses of water and don't eat anything until 2-3 pm. I've been recovering for 1 one year now and I'm feeling almost 99% recovered. Greetings.

Of course fasting helped, but it's not the only thing I've done to got better ?

Totally agree. Felt a zombie while taking these, fucked and messed up all.

Hey Jose, sorry to hear about your infection.

my visual symptoms are severe compared to some I think, but other mental symptoms not so much.

about 3 months ago I had to take a super strong dose of amoxicillin clavulanic acid for an excruciatingly painful abscess.

i didn't notice any affect on my HPPD whatsoever from taking these antibiotics. Maybe I was just too preoccupied with the pain. But 3 months down the line im exactly the same as I was before taking them.

although everyone reacts differently so I'd be cautious with anything.

Hello amigo. Thank you for the reply. My doctor did extract my tooth without putting me on antibiotics. I asked him If I could avoid them and he told me the infection I had wasn't no active, so he didn't prescribe me any antibiotics. Fortunately, 4 days after the extraction, I have no pain since the first moment I did put my ass outside the hospital.

But it' so good to know Amoxicillin was good for you. Thank you again and take care buddy.

I was just prescribed Ciprofloxacin for stomach problems but elected not to take it after seeing the stories posted on this forum. I think a lot depends on what type of antibiotic you're taking and how powerful the dose is. Cipro sounds like a nightmare whereas others seem to be OK. If I were you I'd type in some search words in the bar at the top right of this page and see what results you come up with.

KBFante don't take cipro please. When my hppd started 4 years ago, my doc gave gave me cipro for treat a ear infection and it was like I felt dead. I'm sure there are LOT of kinda of antibiotics for treat that infections.

  8. Hi guys. I'm Jose. I've been out from this board. As I said in other posts, my life came back. With time all my symptoms have faded, no dp/dr, only mild visuals (feel free to pm me to ask whatever you want) and I only get a little worsening of symptoms in stress and lack of sleep periods. So, I need your help and your experience with that.

I have to take antibiotics 3x7 days = 21 pills, of Amoxicillin next Tuesday for a tooth infection.

What do you experience guys while on it? I've heard lot of "nightmares" and relapse histories and... to be honest, I would like to read something coming from one guy talking to me directly.

    Greetings from Spain.

  9. & thanks for your advice @MadDoc. I know talk english, but I think I know writte it better. I want to go to Sweden. Until I know, there are lot of people who talks english and this is good, but I hadn't never before go to other country lonely. Just want to go to get relax and looking for new experiences, meet Zlatan house (I love Zlatan Ibrahimovic, football player) and meet a girl from there.

  10. Three years later, I have to say thanks you, Shadowplay. I'm now really good. I feel normal again and visuals have reduced to the point I can't notice them. So, one day 3 years before you gave me hope and today I come here to thank you a lot what you said.

I didn't even remember this post. But I'm just reading my old comments, now that I feel good again. Definitely, there is hope after hppd.

  11. Taurine is like cafeine. I don't know to much about suplements, the only I can say taurine is stimulating substance and maybe it's not good idea for someone who have anxiety. But I hope others who know more about vitamins and these kinda of stuff come here and bring you a better answer.

    :)
