Great post and it does indeed get better. 4 years in with little no no change in intensity of visuals but it's like it's not "there", like a dirty windshield that i see past if that makes any sense.

No effect for me and i drink 6 cups of coffee a day on average, just makes me a bit shaky.
-
Had two cavities fixed and had local anasthesia administered two days in a row, no effect on hppd at all. Lots of drooling though.

I played the third one and New Vegas, didn't fall for it. I like the elder scrolls games more. Also, this is posted in the wrong forum

I'm an assistant production manager at a sausage factory. Not the ideal job for someone with hppd since it's very stressful, loud and my shifts vary from 8h to 14h. Thinking about studying soon though since im still fairly young (21)

Hayo, taurine does not affect my visuals. I spent a month in Indonesia recently and there you can buy a kind of a powdered energy drink called Extra Joss which contained 1000mg of taurine, this was popular to mix with booze before going out partying, which i did every other day. I'm oversensitive to caffeine and pretty much every stimulant there is but taurine is fine, no change in symtoms what so ever.

I'm taking busiperone (for the anxiety) and omega 3. My GP and parents believe that my problem is due to anxiety. I rather leaving them with that idea.I really hate worrying my mom. I have a bad feeling that what I have is HPPD. I try to take my mind out of it, but its just useless.
I try my best to look forward but I feel down, sad, this really sucks.I cursed the day I took that damned tap.
Dwelling in the past is the worst thing you can do my friend. The world is your oyster, open it and caress the pearl inside of it. Well being doesn't end with hppd.

How've you been holding up dude? Remember you from when i was more active, nice to see a familiar name (in a way since i bet we'd rather not be in need of this site)

Are you a roadsign? Because stop. Seriously.

Hey man.
I've definitely seen your name whilst lurking older threads and your posts have been useful to read! Awesome to hear that you're doing so well, I think hearing success stories like yours are crucial for us still in the depths of it to become success stories ourselves. Mind if I ask what your symptoms were like at their worst? Particularly, how severe your DP/DR was? How long it lasted? How quickly it faded and whether anything in particular caused it to do so? Etc. etc.? Without DP/DR and its suite of comorbid symptoms I'd be able to live pretty happily/normally and I'm sure a lot of others would say the same.
Thanks a bunch for popping in.
When i was at the worst peak which was a couple of months after i got hppd all my symtoms were just horrible, everything i looked at kept warping and i had multi-colored visual snow, afterimages were severe aswell i mean i could look at a streetlight and still see a green blob burnt in on my eye for almost 15 minutes. Dp/dr was a bitch, i felt like my head was empty but atvthe same time an angry badger was going mayhem inside of my skull, i got stuck in deep thought-loops and whatnot. Man i could barely think during that period. After a couple of months i got so annoyed and pissed about hppd so i decided to encounter the dp/dr by exposing myself to it (a concept i learned while going to the shrink for amxoety) i could lay down on the sofa and just let it get to me and get me in it's claws and during my worst episodes i realized that it's just like amxiety, not dangerous at all and nothing to fear. I started to stop paying attention to the dp/dr feelings and feeding it with energy. And after a couple of months it was just gone!
That might've been a blurry chunk of text, oh well!

That will be good for you, good luck!

Hi!
Some of you might remember me since i was fairly active about a year or so ago. It's good to see some familiar faces.
Anyhow, i'm just checking in and saying hi! I haven't been active lately since i don't feel like i need to, in my opinion i've won the fight with hppd and it took almost two years. Safe to say, it's far from gone and i still have all imaginable visual symtoms, the only symtoms i lack now would be dp/dr and thank fuck for that. Although they have 0 impact on my life anymore, i can function like any other human. I work six days a week and exercise when i have the time for it and i hang out with friends so my life's all good.
I just want to say that if you're new to hppd, the only thing that can make a difference is yourself. It's too late for regret and what's done is done. You are still in control of your life although it might not feel like it if you're impaired due to anxiety and whatnot. The world is your oyster, you just have to open it and dare to see what's inside.
Take care you all.
Best regards,
Morbide

I will follow this with burning interest, this is really exciting!

Hi!
Just take it easy for now, no alchol or drugs (if you use that is...) and make sure you sleep well and if it doesn't pass, go see a doctor if you feel the need to. And if it doesn't pass, i'm afraid it could very well be hppd...

It was horrible, complete ego-death and everything i looked at just turned in to nothing, i believe being dead is the closest "feeling" i can relate my trip with. That followed by a three hour long panic attack. Even contemplated suicide in the midst of it.

Scheiße! Coke is the only drug i want to try after i got hppd. Guess i'll have to stick to alcohol...

Hi thanks for the reply! So is hppd and dp/dr separate disorders or is hppd part of dp/dr? I've been suffering for dp/dr for 2 years all the usual symptoms but I'm not sure as of lately I've suffered from these weird sensations whilst my eyes are closed something like a visual snow. My eyesight whilst my eyes were open have always been hazy or distorted since it started but these new symptoms have really got me in a panic. Thanks again!
They're not neccesarily (spelling) related, i've heard more about dp/dr coming with hppd than vice verca but don't worry, live healthy and it'll probably pass. I've had it for two years, hppd that is, i got rid of dp/dr fairly early. And i have myself to blame since i'm not a healthy person haha.

Hang in there brother, i'll tell you what: it'll get better. Maybe not symptomwise but for every day that goes by, you grow stronger. I've had 12 beers and 5 margeritas tonight so i know what's coming to me in the morrow but dpn't worry, be happy!
Love to all you brothers and sisters

Within an hour of noticing that the whole living room was breathing and strange colours flashing before my eyes + visual snow and all the rest of it. Read up on it and i understood my situation.

I have this, it's not as noticable anymore thank god. I used to be able to look at someones face and look away and still see a vague reception of a face if i looked at a wall.

Game of thrones and Breaking bad are no doubt my favourites.
