  2. VALIDATION SETTINGS CURRENTLY EMAIL MY OLD ACCOUNT (WHICH IS NOW BEING REVIEWED) FOR ALL ACCOUNTS THAT WERE BLOCKED FOR NUMEROUS REASONS. SOME ARE BLOCKED ON ERROR. I HAVE 3,555 MESSAGES TO GO THROUGH. 99.9% ARE LEGITIMATE BLOCKS. HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS: Online Databases contain information on known IP addresses, email addresses and other variables that are reported by forums (including ours) when a user is marked as spam. I get a report like this: Registration BlockA user has been blocked from registering. Details regarding the registration attempt have been provided below. Username: Tabbesealketa1 IP Address: 5.254.144.200 Email Address: hallal659@rondecuir.us Username Records: 0 (StopForumSpam) IP Records: 1220 (StopForumSpam) Email Records: 255 (StopForumSpam) Threat Level: n/a (ProjectHoneyPot) For more information regarding the history of this user, visit the following websites. Lookup Username on StopForumSpam Lookup IP Address on StopForumSpam Lookup Email Address on StopForumSpam Lookup IP Address on ProjectHoneyPot Report provided by Stop Spammer Registration for IP.Board As you can see, this user has 255 records for that email address reported as SPAM and 1220 for that IP address. So, the odds are very strong that it is a spammer. However, sometimes I will see a user with only a few IP records as the only reason for blocking, which is a potential real user because IPs are dynamically assigned (in many cases) so a user logged in with one that was marked as bad. These need reviewing.. It will take some time. - David Here, I can
  3. I am working on a site with a different content magagement system and that would be entirely doable.
  4. Just to be clear, when I stated I was going to send an e-mail blast I was suggesting a mass e-mail to all members advising them of the opportunity. Nobody has been motivated to work with HPPD expecting to get money (Not many HPPD books out there for a reason). Dr. Abraham's research, if you look carefully at the publications, did not involve major grants and often done without funding. I am glad to see such a family effort in the project and my guess is participation has been low because of lack of visibility. I hope to change this. Cheers! David
  5. I am going to blast e-mail this later this evening.
  6. Good question. Just to let other's know: I am very privacy conscious, and the chat room does not have a log lasting longer than an hour (I'll get the exact amount, but it may even be 50 lines) and even I do not have access to it because I have it set to delete. The Chat Rooms on other similar sites usually are full of trolls and have nothing good to say. I think if someone saw another person in it, it would be active. However, many are very privacy conscious and more than half the regular reading members are not even registered. - David
  7. I have had thoughts on doing it... I have 500 pages written on the topic I could put it together. I will put up my piece for the Psychologist and see where that goes for using a good text for wikipedia format.
  8. When I saw the topic of the post, my first thought was to mention Gabapentin as one pharmacological drug for sleep. I have my leg shaved from a skin graft and last night I could not sleep one minute -- I did not have my refill and there is a withdrawal. I am on 600mg three times daily. The first few days will give you a euphoric high and general sense of well being. This is a good reason they are finally investigating it for antidepressant use, It is both activating & calming at the same time. It is hard to describe, but I would say that I get more benefit in long term from gabapentin than I do/did clonazepam. A gentleman from an insomnia group just followed me on twitter and posted about gabapentin, There are a lot of good things going for it: Not metabolized in your liver, no lethal dose possible without using the pill as a bullet and it is now generic and $15 for 90x600mg at a private pharmacy is the going rate. Also, 100mg can be very effective as well. Gabapentin can give a sense of mania without purpose and you will clean or do projects, but generally this is not a bad thing. I think gabapentin is superior to Lyrica ($355.00 for a month) for price and efficacy.

  10. E-mail the photo to davidkozin@me.com. There is an art to making sure the photo is within both a physical dimensions and a file size & type restriction. Thanks! David

  14. This is a Chart of the Amount of Spam blocked automatically compared to the messages allowed. The Red bar is the Spam Blocked, the Blue (second number) is allowed. 17. This is the trouble with auto-spam detection: If I create stricter controls over the determination of spam accounts it will create False Negatives (Real users considered spammers for any number of reasons (e.g. now on a dynamic IP associated w/spammer, etc) and then I have users unable to create accounts because they are auto-flagged. However, it will result in no spam. But, a significant number of users unable to join. I am at various degrees of healing from a severe wound and break that has kept me still in a wheel chair and with a wound vac along with half my leg now titanium (plus all of the meds) ;/ My memory on oxycodone is worse than my normal memory, but I thought I gave a user moderation permissions with the sole purpose of deleting spam (I will check). I will review the entire board today, which goes along with a plan while I am writing material for the journal The Psychologist (I am finding material from old posts)... this is co-authored with Dr. Abraham. Part of a special edition of the journal on the topic of Hallucinogens. The wonder of Twitter (I use Twitter as my primary update tool) and developing a good relationship with an editor and former health minister of the UK). Anyone on Twitter should follow @davidkozin (send me a private message that you are from the board or remain on anonymous) and I post updates here as well. Ignore the politics and other tweets unless you are interested in these topics (but you will see good discussions about drugs with researchers, politics of research, HPPD stories). Also, I am still sitting on the great domain name visiondisorders.org and want to make something of it. However, I have about a million half finished projects. I need to read the main threads on the board to re-orient myself with the community. I have kept my Facebook account inactive for months because of privacy and other concerns. All my best, David
  18. Getting Skin Graft on Friday...

  19. I have been out of commission for nearly two months. It has not impacted the co-authoring of a paper on HPPD for the British Psychological Association's Flagship journal, "Psychologist" in a special edition on Hallucinogens. I had a very complex break in multiple locations on one of my legs. The damage done inside the leg was severe and to prevent amputation of my lower leg, the trauma surgeons rushed me for an emergency fasciotomy (removal of the fascia). In my case, it was a 25cm x 12cm section of my right shin/calf cut to expose the muscle and remove the pressure in my 4 leg compartments. I woke up to that wound with a wound vac connected to it. I am still wearing the wound vac. Then sent off to have an intra medullary nailing of my tibia. Intramedullary (IM) rods are used to align and stabilize fractures. IM rods are inserted into the bone marrow canal in the center of my tibia (large shin bone). An x-ray of the rod and nails in my leg is below along with the "spounge" covering my wound connected to a negative pressure vacuum 24/7. I then developed an infection at one of the sites of the break. 2 additional surgeries, through-out the day IV antibiotics & multiple antibiotics to treat resistant strain. Three times a week I have my wound inspected and vacuum dressing changed. I have an appointment tomorrow (Oct 2nd) with the Infection Disease group at the hospital to evaluate the state of the infection. Either I am cleared for the next step to have a skin graft, put on continued waiting (this type of Staph can take year to battle), or re-admitted for IV drugs/monitoring/etc (I doubt this is the case, I seem pretty well). I have been injected with Fentanyl, Morphine, Midazolam, Dilauded, Nerve BLocks, 8-12 Percocets a day... still can not walk, but starting to move my ankle a little. Best wishes, David

  21. I validated all members not marked as spammers. I sent the validation e-mail again, but it will not be necessary as your account should work. I am working on an HPPD application for doctors to be sold at iTunes and Google App Store. It will be free, but contain information about HPPD along with summary articles and links to articles in the press. If you, or any other individual is unable to create an account contact me at davidkozin@me.com and I will validate it manually until I can set the permissions for all Admins/Moderators to allow for this. I apologize for the delay, I have never been so in demand and underpaid. - David Kozin
  22. http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/elements/2013/05/a-trip-that-lasts-forever.html AN EXCELLENT piece covering the complexity of this disorder by Dorian Rolsten. A must read. HPPDonline.com's stories, your words and complex stories, are part of this rich story that shows the difficulties and the misconceptions about this disorder. A second article is coming. This was just a short piece (albeit the best written piece on HPPD to date.). Thank you to everyone for participating in Dirk Hansen's piece for the Dana Foundation and with Dorion Rolsten for this piece. Illustration by Ron Kurniawan. (Not used with Permission, but with much gratitude and I believe falls in the Good Faith reposting with link to the image. I have been extremely busy, and thank you to all of the new administrators for your work. The statistics show a large increase in searches for HPPD and related disorders. Best wishes for Good Health!
