  1. I don't have any psychedelic visuals at all... Just the visual snow, floaters, DP/DR, moderate after images (especially when I close my eyes or go from bright into relatively dark places), sometimes flashes in the dark, moderate anxiety... Got my first appointment to a psychiatrist in a month, which seems like an eternity... Gonna try to get another appointment sooner... I had an intense occurence on sunday, where my left ear went completely deaf and I heard strange noises (chatter?) on the right ear... Lasted for like 2-5 seconds, after which it suddenly went away in an instant... Totally freaked me out!
  2. Thanks for the hint, I took some valerian yesterday and slept relatively well (5-6 hours), I'll definitely get some lavender too.
  3. Sounds similar to what I'm going through... Some nights I can't get any sleep at all, or just very little... Which is really not helping my condition, naturally... If I'm lucky, I can sleep for like 4-5 hours straight, and that's it... Usually after 1-2 big glasses of wine, which I know I shouldn't drink... Waking up and going back to sleep has not worked for me so far, I just get bizarre thoughts and anxiety when I wake up, so after rolling in bed for maybe an hour, I decide that it's better to just get up and at least let the thoughts and anxiety go away... I also have real dreams, this night I think I had three or four... What do you mean by "psychotic" dreams, though? That can mean a lot...
  4. When I first started researching my symptoms on Wikipedia and such, I stumbled over exactly that and apparently this might stem from a paralysis of the optical nerve or something... Basically your brain can't merge the images of the left and right eye quickly enough... Go see a doctor!
  5. I'm also experiencing some dreams that seem real, although when I think about them afterwards, they seem kinda surreal/nonsensical... This night I had like 3 different dreams in succession, one was me just grilling some sausages for some excited kids... A couple days ago, I was laying in bed not being able to sleep at all, and I only noticed that I must have slept at least some time, because I dreamt that I got up, walked around and looked at the clock at 7:10AM, a bit later when I was "awake" for real again (even though it felt like I was awake the whole night) it was 6:55AM...
  6. How do you distinguish DPD from HPPD if there's still visual snow involved? I thought visual snow + DP/DR was very common for HPPD...
  7. Absolutely you can trip on marijuana... Especially inexperienced users can have all kinds of mild hallucinations, mind-trips, panic attacks(!!) etc... And not everybody is living in California or Colorado, so they'll have to buy it illegally, and you never know what kind of shit the growers/dealers put in there to raise profits... Just look up "brix" or "haze spray". The latter is said to contain synthetic cannabinoids which can have severe hallucinogenic effects. But who knows... I have only smoked weed (regularly) and occasionally mixed weed with amphetamines (years ago) and I believe to have HPPD. Apparently, mostly eating junk food for most of my life hasn't helped, either... Also had little sleep recently because I quit pot, and a lot of stress/anxiety because of two illnesses I had recently at the same time (gastritis/peritonitis, which actually caused a panic attack because I thought I might die, which was increased by the pot, which is why I quit pot a couple days later). Now that I think of it, I definitely noticed the HPPD symptoms months earlier, while I was high, so I just thought it was me being high... The recent stress/anxiety/lack of sleep probably just made it worse/premanently noticable.
