  1. Floaters will seem to be moving but usually they are almost stationary and are only moving with your gaze because they are in your eyeballs after all. My wiggling comment was meant to calm you down for only parasites wiggle and HPPD does not include parasites but I think you misunderstood. Floaters are normal to an extant but HPPD sufferers do seem to see them more. Nothing to worry yourself about much like HPPD. It ain't going to kill you.
  2. Yep, and the flat LCD screen of my PC monitor is much easier to stare at even when I play Bad Company 2 or BF4. I chose the HTC One over the Galaxy S5 because having a 3D screen isn't a great idea for me unless I'm in a dark room like a theater and I liked the Harman/Kardon edition (and Gary Oldman's commercial).
  3. Fighting in general is rather easy as long as you know something the other guy doesn't and these days it's easy to be the guy who knows a thing or two. However, it's not worth fighting unless you absolutely have to because you can't do the same trick on them twice or they'll just bring extra protection. Even though I have had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do for over 14 years I have not been in the position to need to use it in public. It wouldn't be fair and the last thing I would want is to be caught not having been registered as a deadly weapon. The reason why I think I haven't needed it is because the confidence it brings allows me to know I always have a backup plan if talking doesn't work and having the gift of gab always helps. On the HPPD side of things you didn't experience anything out of the ordinary for non sufferers because adrenaline causes all of those symptoms you mentioned other than maybe the extra amount of anxiety afterwards.
  4. I would say that the washing out of your visual field is quite normal for anybody who's trying to pay attention to something like that but if objects in your visual field that are more towards your peripheral start to breath or door frames begin to vibrate that's when you know you more than likely have HPPD. It's amazing you mentioned the floating cat head because I had an instance where I was half asleep and one of my eyes has a habit of not always being closed all of the way and my dog's head appeared to be floating in front of my face and as I drifted to sleep the head slowly flew through a completely open and barren window into the world outside that looked dark and about to storm.
  5. Hmm, I'm blown away the more I read about what people are going through and when I relate it to what I know about physics and my experiences with HPPD and other visuals. It's no surprise that if anyone is going to see light even when it's super dark it's going to be first purple at the very least but still eventually progress to green, then yellow, before ending with red if your eyes are sensitive enough. Yep, that's the entire color of the rainbow but that only happens most noticeably with the whitest or bluest of lights and to some degree certain yellow lights. If I'm looking at a bright enough light with enough glare and enough blackness or darkness behind it I can see exactly what I'm talking about with most car headlights or street lamps. Purple and blue light has the shortest wavelength so it travels through space easy enough compared to the other colors but air does absorb it which is why the sky looks blue during the day. More fantastical would be if some of us were starting to see ultraviolet light but that would be too awesome to somehow gain because only animals are supposed to be able to see that light.
  6. The brain is an amazing processor that can filter out or even add information to complete a picture. There is a lot more light and information hitting the retina than you have probably ever thought of and if your brain didn't filter out the unnecessary information you'd have a hard time seeing anything at all. The brain has to at least filter out the blood vessels, optic nerves, and microscopic debris mostly made up of dust particles but the brain also has to add information to make up for the blind spot everyone has in each eye where our optic nerves end which I think is best described as located down and to the side. Floaters are inherently benign but if they are wiggling on their own I would be a little more concerned. It's normal for everyone to see them from time to time but it would seem that HPPD sufferers see a lot more of them more often. There are many cool things online that demonstrates what I mean like http://io9.com/5804116/why-every-human-has-a-blind-spot---and-how-to-find-yours but even when I was a child I noticed that if I maintained my unfocused gaze at either the floor or a wall long enough features become less detailed over time. The majority colors will seem to spread and create a more simplistic representation before slowly trying to morph into a totally washed out image. Of course eventually your eyes become dry and you finally will have to blink so it's a tough thing to do at times but maybe that's just me. ;-)
  7. Tinnitus sucks and I think it is totally misunderstood much like HPPD. Based on what doctors have told me it seems like the only difference between a normal person and someone who has tinnitus is how much they complain about it. Even if everyone's ears ring from time to time it must mean something more when it's so easy to have the notion and then have a very bad case of it for a moment but they don't seem to see it that way. Then there are the times I do get super high and when I try to do something like stand there to piss all of a sudden it hits me and I feel that if I let it overcome me I'll probably pass out or have some sort of mental explosion. So if hyper awareness is all it takes to have a tinnitus outbreak then HPPD sufferers would likely have tinnitus too. As long as I don't get high or light headed and as long as no one mentions the word I'm usually OK but technically I never stop hearing a ringing. It's all just a matter of how noticeable it is.
  8. They are that way for me. Different lights have a different color spectrum and the halos reflect that difference. It's most noticeable at night but it can be seen indoors if it's dark enough or there is a black background. I think it's quite fascinating personally and allows me to identify a certain types of bulbs from the colors of the halo which is a little handy in my job. It's like having little prisms in my eyes that I bet Sir Isaac Newton could only wish he had. Unfortunately for me that symptom will probably fade over the next year.
  9. Then why not write it? If your brain gives you a gem don't ignore it.
  10. Wow, another topic that seems to hit the nail right on the head. Almost sounds as if I had written the topic and forgot about it other than for the part about having seen doctors and the lack of LSD MDMA, shrooms, and salvia. The one thing I learned about the plastic look of the world is when I read an article about how to take a picture and use tilt shifting to make real pictures look like pictures of miniatures. The way they described the process made me feel that it was similar to what the human brain can be doing when things look a little plastic but not to such an extreme of course unless your symptoms are really that bad! Just a theory. The good news for you though is that your symptoms ought to be temporary while for those of us that have done harder core drugs, we aren't so fortunate.
  11. I'd say you probably do. I can relate to the increase in symptoms when I last tried to quit cannabis but I would assume that's more temporary than trying to continue to smoke cannabis and dealing with the constant symptoms. The good thing was the extra endorphines or serotonin I was experiencing which made me realize something was wrong with me considering that usually depression is the main symptom of jonesing. Fun time though.
  12. Well, that just seems to confirm what I've always thought about those types of drugs in relation to my own experiences with them. I can't say if my dreams weren't just as vivid before HPPD but the frequency had definitely increased hence why I do what I do.
  13. I saw nowhere else to post this but I would love to change my avatar and add stuff to my profile but I cannot click on edit profile without getting a short error message. It doesn't matter if I use Chrome or IE8 and I don't think I saw the option on my phone.
