the things i've noticed to increase my symptoms short term have been; alcohol, cigarettes, pot, caffeine, too much sleep, also too little sleep, dim lights, and stress has been a HUGE problem with my symptoms.
long term things would have to of been heavy drug use after symptoms started (made things quite worse than they were in the beginning, but it was the only way i knew to deal.) that's really the only thing that made my symptoms worse for more than a day or two.
things that have helped me, MY PUPPY!!, exercise, normal sleep, healthy diet, NO drug use (including pot), herbal treatments (such as teas and essential oils), spiritual practice (reiki energy healing, craniosacral therapy, and all around peaceful meditation everyday.)
