Anyone else have severe anhedonia ?

Recommended Posts

When I got hppd my anhedonia became very severe (I already had it before when I only had dp)

I cannot follow a movie, I cannot enjoy a single thing coz there is no sensory experience at all for me, not to mention I'm severely dissociated to the point of not even feeling like a human. I'm constantly waiting for the day to end, wondering what to do just to pass time but everything is so pointless. I can't get pleasure from anything !!! I can't connect to shit

Anyone else feel like this ?

Not necessarily anhedonia, but my pleasure responses are a bit blunted; I still enjoy a lot of things, but the pleasure or entertainment derived from those things last less long and is a bit decreased. Additionally, sometimes when my DP/DR comes in a large wave, it makes things such as even reading from a textbook or gaming (which I just picked up again for a variety of reasons) rather hard to participate in, and thus enjoy.

Have you tried naltrexone yet? I've been looking into it and have gotten quite excited about potentially trying it in the next month or so (waiting on a RBC magnesium test along with a thyroid panel so I can first try more fundamental things, such as correcting deficiencies).

Haha imagine having dp chronically and it doesn't come in waves, then picture that times by 10 and u feel extremely disconnected. That's why I have anhedonia

No I'm not going to try any medication or drug now, it always sets me back and aggrivates my hppd. Unfortunately I'm going to have to heal in Brazil without the help of medication but who knows how long that's gonna take.

I had the same thing missjess. If I would look at an object I wouldn`t have an automatic emotional reaction to it like I did prior to HPPD. I just kind of understood it theoretically but not practically. Hard to explain. Thankfully that has faded away to a large extent for me.

I suffer anhedonia but not as described above.  It is a blunting of joy.  But much more so it is 'not getting power to the tracks'.  There is emotional response but can't act effectively on it.  It is like being stuck.  Sinemet helps this a lot.

What are they planning to do next in Brazil?  How long have you been there ... or were you not able to make it yet?

Yeah my anhedonia is extreme with hppd I'm completely cut off :(

I've been here for 2 months already and this is my only option to get better I will have to make multiple trips to be healed of this problem also.

I can't seem to take medication with aggrivating hppd.
