Do u feel physically weak

1998

Recommended Posts

I've had so much energy all my life playing sports, working ect. I'm only 31 and of late I really have to push myself to do anything. I'm sure some of it's due to depression just cause hppd's been violent to me. But I remember just 3 yrs ago being able to run marathon's and work 50 hrs a week.

My body is completely tolerant to klonopin now and I'm sure I'm answering my own ? but that must be it.

I'm just sad that I'm only 31 and I have herniated disks in my back, plus my klonopin stopped working and if I really want to live again I have to go through hell.

Somebody make me feel better :) I hate bitching on this board but that's all I got right now

It is difficult to say for sure. Reason I say that is because the extreme physical abilities and taxing the body starts to be felt in the body after about 28. I felt it due to tae kwon do. Using everything I had I was fine until after 28. My teacher who fought in Korea in full contact tournements told me how he changed at the end of his twenties.

Also, hppd knocks the hell out of me these days. And klono is most almost definately causing you to feel any exertion to a greater extent.

Rant on, I can't really speak for age, but I can definitely speak for tiredness. I don't know, but I feel that with HPPD I blame a lot of things on it that is perhaps much more ordinary, do you feel your weakness is subjective or objective? If you feel weak and fatigued subjectively its probably depression, anxiety, all I am sure we are all too used to, but if it is more objective, it might be more of an ordinary issue. Think hard, have you been taking on more, perhaps is physical stress, pehaps you are not eating as well as you should, perhaps you are just getting older :P. I am only 19, but I can distinctly recall times even before HPPD where I just felt shitty tired and weak for months at a time. I also had a hectic schedule, got about 4 hrs of sleep a night, and a pretty shitty diet. Sooo, it was probably that. Could probably be from klono as well. Even if you are tolerant.

I would say for sure. Mind and body are so intricately connected they can almost be seen as one. It is more difficult to generate physical energy if you're in an HPPD slump in my experience. You just have to psyche yourself up and get pumped - overcome the side effects of HPPD.

I have about 10% of my former capacity left. Joint and muscle ache, exhaustion from nothing. So I searched for what might be causing it, and found out that I check in for all symptoms of myalgic encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). My doctor sent me to take a blood test for protein fractions (some fractions indicate CFS). I haven't got the results yet though.

I recommend all of you who feel abnormal fatigue to check it up, it might be CFS, but it could be something worse. So do it in time!

Hey 1998

I can relate very much to your energy levels. Except I'm only 23. Used to run cross country and track and be really active. Now it takes me 3 hours just to actually wake up afters sleeping and then i spend the rest of the day shifting between tired and exhausted. I think it's just the effects of years of chronic and relentless stress. Could have caused CFS, most doctors I've talked to about this blow me off though- not mainstream recognized yet I guess.

Epstein Barr should be tested for CFS

That virus can cause a lot of trouble in the body, yes. Researchers also found XMRV virus in some CFS patients, but the protein fraction test seems to be the one which might best prove CFS in a person. Though, it could be good to test for those viruses too.. One can never be entirely sure! :P

Thx for the replies, I was just reading about (CFS) I have almost all the symptoms especially joint pain and headaches. I've spent so much money on MRI's and doctors said besides my back most of my body looks fine, but yet I have horrific pain all over daily. I figured it's fibromyalga (sp?) but who knows.

''Now it takes me 3 hours just to actually wake up afters sleeping and then i spend the rest of the day shifting between tired and exhausted''

I feel you ludwig80!! This is exactly how I've fealt every day since hppd. I just take vitamin B and force myself to workout it helps.

1998 I'm pretty sure it's klonopin. I'd recommend you to stop it. I know how good it is for HPPD but after seeing what LSD could cause to you and considering everything we know about benzos, cognitive deficit, etc, do you really trust it for the long term?

I, too, since HPPD, feel considerably less energetic. But I realized it comes from my depression. When I get out to do a physical activity I can perform even better than before. That's why I love caffeine. It does increase my visuals, but it boosts my motivation, mood and makes my mind more clear. A good tradeoff. The opposite of klonopin. It's the reason you are not seeing me around so often anymore.

Anyway, do you workout? Do you eat well? Do you still do exercises often?

Windscar, I know a lot of it's due to klonopin. But I've been on this stuff for 12 yrs average of 3mg. Everytime I drop just .25mg (currently at 3.25) I feel suicidal the w/d's get so crazy. I wish I could just go iinto a detox center for a month and get all the way off, but I've read it's the worse thing I could do. I'm going to continue to drop it's just going to take forever.

I do workout (cardio) daily, walk atleast 2 miles and do all kinds of core exercises to help my messed up back. I miss free weights though, nothing like getting shredded but it just kills my back and I already had a triple hernia surgery from lifting.

Eating, I have a healthy breakfast and usually a chicken salad during the day. I do eat junk food for my other two meals though :)

I know what your saying about caffiene, it's kicks in anxiety but I love it. Helps me exercise and get those natural endorphins I crave.

415stylee ya definetly post your results, I appreciate all the feedback. Later all!!

I feel exhausted (such as with a lack of sleep) constantly regardless of whether I get 8 hours of sleep or 16. I've noticed I spend an inordinate amount of time (12+ hours) sleeping if I have no other obligations. It is difficult to tell if this is a result of HPPD or from continuous disruption of sleep patterns from substances with seritogenic activity (I seem to remember a link between the two, if I am not mistaken). Regardless, I have some awful insomnia, occaisonal bouts of sleep paralysis (~ once a week) and some odd body spasms as I am drifting off. I had an appointment with a sleep specialist this month on the 22nd after waiting 2 months but I just realized I have orientation for college on the same day, so I will have to reschedule. Hopefully I will not have to wait another 2 long months.

Windscar, I only have the 2 mg klono pills so it's hard to make them smaller then .25. My doc doesn't want me coming off klono so I've been titrating the 2mg pills so she doesn't find out. I will eventually get to 2 mg daily and stop cutting down at that point.

Also regarding pain, I went to docs yesterday I believe all my pain is coming from myofascial pain syndrom. All over my body I have contracting muscles in trigger points that are causing referred pain throughout my body. I got a deep tissue message yesterday and I feel a little bit better. I hope I've found out what's wrong w/ me!

CRB, try not to sleep more then 8 hrs. I used to sleep all day when I first got hppd and it made me xtra tired all the time and just depressed and moody as hell. You have to find obligations once you force yourself into a routine you'll start to feel more self worth and you won't even think of hppd as much. Even ppl w/o hppd would be going crazy sleeping all day w/ nothing to do.

I went to so many sleep doc's and all they could help me w/ was giving me ambien and telling me what all already knew. Exercising or keeping physically busy throughout the day and also try some melatonin start w/ 3mg. that could help you with sleep.

I also use sleep aid if I can't fall asleep it works great and I know what you mean about the muscle twitching and spasms as you lay down, they're annoying and hard to get used to but maybe listen to the news or turn on a fan as you lay down to help you focus on something else.Feel better, have to go to a job interview I better get this one, it's been nearly impossible to land jobs of late!

Yeah I started at 3mg melatonin about 2 months ago and increased to 6mg then 9mg. It worked at first but stopped working fast. I didn't want to push the dosage any higher. It just seems like some nights I just can't get to sleep regardless of what I do. I'll try sleeping less again. I always have a fan on in my room because the white noise helps.

Some nights I just toss and turn laying awake for hours on end because I can't get comfortable. When this happens I generally just give up go find something else to do.

Good luck at your interview :D Work is the one place where I can mostly forget about my symptoms

What an absurd. Can he really do it? Even if you say you wanna stop?
