Intense Meditation Reduced Visuals

actually.. yes i did. i was very clear about that and about how after countless attempts by you to twist my words i kept finding myself forced to sink to the level of your trolling and respond with insults. and how i may be just as deserving as moderation as you, but if you are an example of how this community treats new members then it's shameful.

so yeah. I'll leave it to them to decide how to see that. in the meantime keep responding if you feel the need to prove my point to them further. or do the sensible thing and stop being an ass and just ignore me and i'll ignore you like nice civil human beings should be able to do. if you cant just do that then all you are doing is showing that all you want is an argument

I don't want an argument but I won't be told what to do by you. With the exception of two retaliatory words in one post I'm entirely satisfied with how I've behaved. If you feel you behaved appropriately, fine. Let the moderators decide.

Again, what have I told others they must do?

Also, "in the meantime keep responding if you feel the need to prove my point to them further. or do the sensible thing and stop being an ass and just ignore me and i'll ignore you like nice civil human beings should be able to do. if you cant just do that then all you are doing is showing that all you want is an argument".

Or, "you're a troll for responding but I'm not, and let me get the last jab in or your uncivil but I'm not uncivil if I keep responding".

I fear you might be undermining your complaint.

its amazing when the things you complain about are the same things you do.. whats good for the goose eh? i feel like we're now just playing a game of who can get the last word in.. i know you wont give up even if i completely ignore you so now im just going to keep pointing out the hypocrisy .. as far as what you've said we must do. your demands for explanations aren't you telling us we must give you concrete facts and proof for what we're saying to have any weight? .. that's not telling people they have to do something? or am i not allowed to do as you do and take peoples words out of context and apply them towards making a point?

don't appreciate when people do it to you, then stop doing it to them

simmer down guys.

As for meditation and hppd, if it works for some why not.

Even if its just a placebo, if it can be therapeutic for some, its definitely helpful since lots of people link hppd with anxiety.

Also here are some research proofs on controlled breathing/meditation.

search words were: meditation cerebral cortex, deep breathing brain function, meditation and brain, etc.

just a couple abstracts and my random theories

Perhaps most interesting, though, was the positive correlation between the number of meditation years and the amount of insular gyrification.

“The insula has been suggested to function as a hub for autonomic, affective and cognitive integration,” said Luders. “Meditators are known to be masters in introspection and awareness as well as emotional control and self-regulation, so the findings make sense that the longer someone has meditated, the higher the degree of folding in the insula.”

Helps with DP/DR perhaps?

immediately after, and 15 minutes after listening to an RR-eliciting or a health education CD. Both short-term and long-term practitioners evoked significant temporal gene expression changes with greater significance in the latter as compared to novices. RR practice enhanced expression of genes associated with energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, insulin secretion and telomere maintenance, and reduced expression of genes linked to inflammatory response and stress-related pathways.

stress, inflammation, energy, all keywords in hppd.

Once i got my organ, i couldn't keep my hands off of it !

Ahaha. Where the hell have you been?!

I've not demanded an explanation, I've just challenged your idiocy. All I asked in this thread that set you off is "How would increased bloodflow "exercise" your organs? And why would internal oragans need exercising (or massaging) anyway? And what on earth would that have to do with HPPD?" If you're too much of a baby to handle questions like that (and it was just a question, not a demand; either you're too stupid to tell the difference or you're trying rhetorical tricks here) then maybe you shouldn't be on a public forum.

Well, as any other member since i stepped down as admin i can now say whats on my mind.

To be honest, if i wouldnt have read who was the one meditating for 6-7 years, reading in to the language used i would think that Chris would be the one meditating.

Disguyhere, you seem so frustrated. Why? Its just one person not agreeing with you, asking relevant questions about your success and how it works. If it was me, i would be happy to explain how different meds that helps me work (which has been my path). That goes for the low carb diet i am on as well.

Merkin,

If it were just this thread this time I wouldn't care, but Chris went out of his way to troll my first thread on the site because he felt I had some agenda. And I went out of my way to try to be polite but he kept making shit up. Telling me I'm making some kind of assertion. And acting like I owed him something. I'm sorry but why should I not be frustrated?I'm tired of people like Chris in every forum you go to. Some high and mighty attitude that they think is them being noble and protecting the forum by getting the truth out blah blah blah. When it crossed the line from asking questions to making accusations which he has done to other people than me as well. Then I have every reason to get pissed.

That's all..as happy as I was to find this site it's not worth it if I'm going to find the same judgemental bullshit as I do everywhere else. It only takes one turd in the punch bowl to ruin the party.

Just can't help being a snarky prick even when someone is trying to bring levity to the situation. Must really suck to be you.

Yeah, if unrelated claims from some nutty broad in a tabloid newspaper don't prove the usefulness of meditation with regards to HPPD I don't know what will.

I thought it might be levity but I wasn't sure. It's genuinely hard to tell with you. And more insults? Keep this up and I shall complain to the moderators!

If you're going to make such accusations you should probably post a link to the thread so that people can decide for themselves.
