  1. I can't say I know much on "cholinesterase" but I can say generally antipsychotics are bad for HPPD and anti-convulsants have shown promise more so than any other intervention so far (Clonazepam, Keppra seem to be the most effective to date). Seeing as on one side antipsychotics cause symptoms to worsen and anti-convulsants cause some relief it may be worth looking into what effect this neurotransmitter has in relation to HPPD symptoms. Thank you for sharing this, do you have the link to article still? Also, what made you start looking into acetylcholine?
  2. Awesome man! Really looking foward to this! I'm also glad you got into this theory, I kind of got as far as I could with it and had to let it die being unable to try CBD strains. No one else seems to of had an intrest, good minds think alike man! haha.
  3. This is from my expirience and I don't want anyone to go out and do it either because each person is differen't. I am currently smoking weed, I have no idea on the ratios of cannabinoids or the strain. It's get what you are given from where I am really. I started off slowly, the first few times I felt very panicky and anxious but after a while those feelings dissapeared. It doesn't have any negatives towards my symptoms, it's very neutral for me, it doesn't make them better or worse, just helps me relax and sleep at night. I don't think THC has a very strong link between this condition, I'm not saying it is something that THC cannot cause it but it is a lot rarer compared to LSD, if THC was more common at causing it than LSD we would have A LOT of people running around with it. The dopamine theory is also something that doesn't really make much sense to my self. I was taking Sinemet for a while to no affect. I have also been using amphetamines lately and there are no real increase in symptoms, very slight increase but I don't attritbute this to the amphetamine use, I think it is more related to the sleep deprivation, any increase in symptoms goes back to baseline anyway. MDMA and mushrooms on the other hand which act on serotonin to a greater extent were very similar to my symptoms, I have not touch them in a long time and do not plan too. I personally think this is a malfunction in the serotonin systems as apposed to the dopamine. But as I said each person is differen't, some things make people better, some worse, some nothing, it's a very personal and complicated condition! Thanks for sharing the link confirming it does in fact contain CBD, Mikezero. I am very interested to see how this goes. At one point I was actually going to try and grow hemp but it was too risky, even though it is not illegal to grow where I am but you need a license, too much trouble if I'm not going to be growing crops and making a profit! Especially when I have no idea on how much CBD the plant may contain! But this also make me wonder how much CBD is actually in these products, it only says contains X amount of hemp oil, there could be only very small amounts of CBD in there. Another thing to mention about THC and CBD is that there is a synergy between the two, headaches are common from hemp when smoked, I have also read that headaches can manifest from CBD, it might be wise to have the CBD with a bit of THC to minimize those side effects. Strains like harlequin are definitely a good starting point. I don't think CBD will be a "cure" and may not even be a extremely effective but I do think that it would be the equivalent of benzos but WITHOUT the side effects, which is an extremely valuable treatment to have. I've been quite obsessed with CBD over the past year and a half but being unable to grow my own medicine has pretty much stopped any chance of testing the theory. Have you ordered any of those products yet? Do you need a medical cannabis card to get them?
  4. Keep us updated please! I've been wanting to try it for over a year now but have been unable to because it's too risky doing so being in Australia! Best of luck mate! Edit: Just looked at the product, it doesn't seem to have any CBD. CBD is also illegal because it is a part of the cannabis plant, I also think that the government also own the patent to CBD, which is no suprise, no profit to be made, ban it! Pricks!
  5. I made a thread about this a while ago. Also, I would stay away from strawberry cough as it has an extremely low CBD profile and is a Sativa, which are known to cause anxiety in most. CBD is also not couch lock causing, the strain your friend would of smoked would of been an Indica, they are usually more medical than Sativa due to their high CBD content. CBD is in fact stimulating, so if there is enough CBD and very low THC you will have a VERY functional medicine. This was my thread and what I posted: http://hppdonline.com/index.php?/topic/740-cannabidiol-cbd/ "I have been meaning to get around to this topic for a while but don't visit the forums much anymore because of the drama and I have also not had much time. The compound is a cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant, Cannabidiol unlike THC (the stuff that gets people stoned) is not psychoactive, therefore it cannot cause you to trip out like THC would. This compound CBD has a VERY large amount of medical studies behind it, it is the cannabinoid in the plant that holds most of the medicinal value. I would share some of studies and what else it can help but I advise you people to do that to see how amazing this cannabinoid is, I'm just going to stick to why it might be very helpful for us. CBD has been proven to help anxiety, that in itself is a benefit to all of us, I know for my self that if I was able to effectively and safely (CBD is safe unlike benzos and other pharm medications) treat my anxiety that would be most of my problems taken care of. The reason I think this compound would be beneficial to us directly is because it is (from reading medical journals/studies) a 5-HT2a receptor agonist. I posted a while back a thread about my theory about 5-HT and it's relation to our symptoms, I found that drugs like LSD, magic mushrooms, MDMA etc are Antagonists for these receptors, THC I also think is an antagonist. THC is known to cause anxiety while on the drug (I'm not sure exactly if it can re-wire the brain and cause mental illness in and of itself or if it is just a trigger to those predisposed, I won't leave that to discussion though as it is going off topic) and also paranoia. CBD, on the other hand does the exact OPPOSITE, it is been said to be as effective as atypical antipsychotics. So in simple terms, THC bad for our symptoms and in theory CBD good. Now, it's not as easy as just smoking cannabis, well it is, BUT the cannabis grown these days are known for having high levels of THC. People want to get high, so they grow these strains that have enourmous levels of THC so they can get high. As of the last couple years though CBD has come to many peoples attention, mainly in the medical world, the benefits of this compund are amazing! This is why a lot of scientists and growers are trying to breed high CBD plants with low THC, that means you won't get high, but you will get the medical benefits. This is great, but the thing is unless you live in a country with legal or medically available cannabis then this medicine is illegal, even though it won't get you high. I'm sure there are people here though that would be able to apply for medical cannabis. I'm not telling anyone to go out of their way and do something illegal here, I am just sharing information, so please don't go doing anything that would break the law. I would however, love to hear if this could be available to someone, legally, and hearing their testimonial towards, because I really do think this would be a benefit to our symptoms and safe too compared to all the drugs that are out there."
  6. Sleep deprivation is the WORST thing in my expirience for dp/dr. There were points that I was sleeping very badly and I remember my brain couldn't keep up with what I was supposed to be processing and I would be looking at something then look else where and it would feel as if it had just appeared and would hit me like a tonne of bricks. Horrible, horrible feeling. Sleep is good.
  7. I have it prescribed but I do not want to take it at the moment as being off benzos after a year of hell I would rather stay away from chemicals.
  8. Meditation helps. It will only help if done consistantly though. Try work your way up to 20mins 2 times a day. Definitely not a quick fix but sure has helped my self!
  9. I don't really research things anymore as when I did I would fixate on my symptoms and that would be no good, I even rarely visit this and the visual snow forum anymore. But seeing as I have done what you have asked before I thought I would post. I know most here suffer from anxiety and dp/dr (which is the result of such) and this drug here looks very promosing, I've been following it along for a while, even emailed them to see if I was able to participate in testing it, it was not going through any expirimental phases though unfortunately. But in regards to those symptoms and the fact the benzos help a lot of people with these and the visual symptoms I would think this would be a nice drug to try.. http://www.bionomics.com.au/page.php?section=104
  10. It is available here, I have it prescribed. It was harder to get though, you may need to talk to a neurologist.
  11. Thank you for posting this! These two medications are definatly on the backburner, I have them both prescribed, not keen to try anything yet though.
  12. Strange, I would like to know what it was, couldn't find anything about it upon searching.
  13. I have a script for it, just haven't taken it yet because coming off Clonazepam and playing around with opiates have taken a toll on me, I will however update if I decide to take it.
  14. What are you saying yes to, sorry? Have you tried high CBD strains and found it has helped your anxiety? If so, has it helped any other symptoms?
  15. This is a thread I made on the visual snow forums: http://thosewithvisualsnow.yuku.com/topic/7158/Cannabidiol-CBD#.T0zDOeT44hA "I have been meaning to get around to this topic for a while but don't visit the forums much anymore because of the drama and I have also not had much time. 16. All good, I was a bit confused haha.
  17. I thought you had already tried it? http://hppdonline.com/index.php?/topic/351-etifoxine/
  18. Interesting, although I should have mentioned while not on drugs but thanks for the reply. Can you explain what you expirienced? Did it feel as if you were acyually having a flashback and reliving an acid trip? Or was it more like intense dp/dr?
  19. I haven't seen anyone actually describe having flashbacks, I'm not even sure I seen anyone on the old forums describe having it either.
  20. If they weren't addictive or harmful to health I would definatly take them a lot because they are the only thing that provide relief for my self. Stay away if you can, they are good short term, horrible long term.
  21. Alcohol doesn't affect my symptoms at all and helps my anxiety when I am drunk but I am struggling with alcoholism along side benzodiazapine addiction, opiates have also been a problem too. I reccomend staying away from all drugs if possible, especially all these, they aren't ones to be messed with, trust me.
  22. I remember looking into this drug a while ago, can't remember what conclusion I made of it but this is interesting.
  23. Low doses did nothing for me, high doses made me feel an extreme drunk sensation that wasn't very nice.
