  1. 2015 took a dodgy pill, saw insects everywhere and it was constant until I came down. I kept looking at the wall to see if the insects had gone the next day and they were just black little dots on the wall. that’s when I googled HPPD. I do think I have it but a minor version compared to some here but it no longer bothers me. I get anxious from time to Tim and I flare up but i always come back down sometimes my HPPD makes me see weird shit and I’m just like wtf. It doesn’t bother me anymore - I recommend citilopram as an ssri. I know people say it makes it worse but it helped me massively. It’s not the visuals that bother people, it’s the anxiety it causes. You need to just accept you have it, don’t do psychedelics or smoke weed and you might recover from the visual stuff - but you should focus on sorting your anxiety out first. Without anxiety there is no HPPD!
  2. I’m struggling to type this so sorry for spelling errors - it’s taken me like an hour to draft it. Today I took 1500mg of Pregabalin and 10mg of clonazepam. Over the course of the day I was so fucked and I still am. I I was probably disassociated at some point, I had no anxiety and an MDMA style high and mushroom style visuals. Words on my screen were moving, my living room suddenly grew grass and turned into a beautiful garden, only for me to look away and it be gone. That’s just one of many examples - I wasn’t hallucinating but there was a lot of visual disturbances. Has anyone else had mushroom style visuals on pregabalin? I was a bit freaked out at first but by the end I really enjoyed it. I was also tripping balls at this point. I have HPPD which might explain the visuals but was wondering if anyone else gets them! My visuals have returned to baseline level now. I was actually enjoying the visuals it reminded me of the good old days. HPPD no longer bothers me and interferes with my life so for those of you who have got it keep on pushing you’ll get there!
  3. Hi, is this drug safe for HPPD? is there a chance of it making symptoms worse or is it safe to take for us HPPDers?
  4. Thanks Jay. What did you find worked for anxiety relief other than benzos. Ideally I’d like to come off the benzos, I get nothing recreationally out of them anymore. I’m not addicted because I stick to once or twice a week but I’m aware it’s a slippery slope. I’ve tried propanol for when I’ve been anxious, minimal effect but stopped racing heart and clammy hands but does nothing for the other horrible feelings of anxiety.
  5. Just ordered some. What are peoples thoughts on it? I have been HPPD and been looking for drugs ofher than benzos, alcohol and opioids that won’t make their symptoms worse. Im someone who still wants to use drugs but is bored of alcohol and benzos and find it difficult to secure opioids. Someone suggested phenibut to me so I have ordered some to see what it’s like. What can I expect and what precautious should I take? And what are the recreational dosages and effects? I take benzos once or twice a week so have quite a high tolerance. Can I take benzos in between or will it make me go into withdrawal? Is this like a substitute for benzos or something to keep you going in meantime?
  6. Other than benzos, alcohol and opioids what other drugs can people do with HPPD that won’t make their symptoms worse. Im someone who still wants to use drugs but is bored of alcohol and benzos and find it difficult to secure opioids. By the way, weed is a no go - last time I did weed I tripped like I was on acid. Maybe I could try other Benzos but my tolerance is quite high now so don’t feel em as much. I’m not dependant cos it’s always been once a week sometimes twice max but can’t really feel the difference between Xanax, clonazepam and diazepam anymore - all just feels same. Haven’t tried Dihydrocodeine yet but guess that would be my next opioid option as I can now take about 400mg of codeine and only get slight euphoria. Tramadol doesn’t effect me and gives me scary CEVs. Man I miss the pre hppd days when I could do coke, mdma, ket, shrooms etc. any hppd-safe alternate suggestions welcome.
  7. Hi guys, What rec drugs do you find are safe to take with HPPD? For me I find benzos, codeine, alcohol and coke as fine but weed and psychadelics exbarate symptoms. Anyone got any other ones they find safe? Bit bored of doing the same ones
  8. Treat your anxiety is the best way to treat your HPPD. I have spent the last 5 or 6 years pretty much fine on top of things with my anxiety. When I go through a stressful situation or my anxiety flares up, I then notice visual disturbances more. I think a lot of what people suffer from is anxiety and being hyper aware of natural visual pphenomna as opposed to HPPD. Not that I'm doubting the existence of hppd - I just think some people who think they suffer from hppd actually just suffer from anxiety. I was one of them. When I'm not anxious at all, I can go days without noticing any visual disturbance. But when you are anxious and obsess over them you notice them more.
  9. I hope you're still alive mate. Citilaprom is perfectly fine. I went through 9 months of severe anxiety and wanting to die before I finally caved and tried citalopram. People say SSRIs make them worse but I don't believe that. They make your anxiety worse in the first few weeks then your body gets used to them and then you're good. I would say for the first 2 weeks of SSRIs I got worse anxiety wise but I persisted with them and after a few weeks my anxiety level decreased a lot. I noticed over time I had less and less bad days but on the whole now I am back to my old self. That was 6 years ago and for most of that time I've been fine, but before I was on SSRIs I was BAD. Alcohol is fine but dont do any other drugs. My set backs have been when I've smoked weed on the odd time and done coke the odd time. I daren't even touch any psychadelic. Stick to booze and you'll be alright.
  10. I just thought I would bump this up for anyone who needs to read it. When I'm not anxious at all, I can go days without noticing any visual disturbance.
  11. Ghosting/double vision is a symptom of eye fatigue. Does anyone think their ghosting/double vision could be due to eye strain from looking for visuals all the time? This was my problem at one point and I noticed a massive increase in double vision around text when I was straining my eyes the most. I was just thinking this information could potentially help someone and make them worry less about their symptoms.
  12. The OP has no symptoms of HPPD. He would probably be ok on SSRI's but that would be his decision to make.
  13. I don't think you have HPPD if visual snow is your only symptom. Everyone has visual snow, ask your family/friends etc to actually stop and look for it and they'll be able to see it. Difference is they'll be able to switch off from it because they're not anxious and don't see it as a threat, whereas you can't because you are anxious. Tinnitus can't really be a symptom of HPPD. How can something visual cause a ringing in your ears? Most likely the tinnitus is a result of the anxiety you're suffering, it's quite a common symptom of anxiety actually. I think a lot of people have mild tinnitus to an extent. I'd try get some therapy if I was you.
  14. Have you taken any benzos? Side effect of some benzos e.g. Valium is blurred/double vision.
