I have always felt out of place, like I was different. Although other people could not see it, I could feel it. I think that feeling different sparked my interest in drugs. I experimented quiet a bit in high school and my senior year I got introduced into mushrooms. I absolutely loved them. Freshman year of college I came home for a weekend and decided to trip. I was stressed out and I did them alone. That lead to the worst trip of my life. A few days later I was smoking a bowl and had my first panic attack. I didn't know what it was. I was 18 when this all happened. I did a lot research on the internet to find out what was going on and the thing that made the most sense was HPPD. The symptoms described exactly what I had. I spent well over the first month crying every day trapped in this strange world. Now over 2 and a half years later I am here. My symptoms are still here but I have learned to manage them much better. I can no longer do things I used to. I used to do drugs everyday and now I hesitate to touch caffeine or cold medicine. The key I have found is keep an open mind, with every door that closes a new one opens. All I want in life now is to be happy. True happiness.
